Sölden is one of the few destinations in the Ötztal valley that has something to offer all year round: in winter, 144 kilometres of slopes and two glaciers are transformed into a paradise for skiers and snowboarders, complete with that World Cup atmosphere at the annual opening event of the Ski World Cup. In summer, the scene is dominated by hiking trails, cycle routes and via ferrata – set against a backdrop of crystal-clear mountain lakes and rugged three-thousand-metre peaks that make the Ötztal so special.
